Stockholm Academic Male Chorus / Stockholms Studentsångare was founded in 1905 and is one of Sweden’s leading male choirs.
Today the choir has 52 active members consisting mainly of academics of all disciplines; both students and graduated. The repertoire is very broad and rooted in all parts of the male chorus literature: old and new; profane and sacred.
Recurrent events in the activities of the choir are the yearly spring and christmas concerts, performance at the graduation and installation ceremony at Stockholm university, performances at Stockholm City Hall, CD productions, performances on television, tours and much more…

Pelle Olofson has led Stockholms Studentsångare since 2012. He studied composing and conducting at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. He also works as a singer in the Swedish Radio Choir, Eric Ericson Chamber Choir and on Swedish opera stages. He has composed film music, electro-acoustic music, music for orchestra and, of course, choir music.
As a conductor he has worked with all professional orchestras in Stockholm and will make his debut as opera conductor at the Stockholm Opera in 2013. He is also conductor for Adolf Fredriks Boys Choir and Lilla kören.
